Alan Dow, M.D., M.S.H.A. is Assistant Vice President of Health Sciences for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care at Virginia Commonwealth University. He oversees the creation, implementation, and dissemination of research, education, and clinical programs designed to enhance collaborative practice and improve patient outcomes. He also directs the Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care at VCU and is responsible for developing, implementing, and studying initiatives in interprofessional education and collaborative practice across the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Allied Health, and Social Work, VCU Health System and the surrounding community.

This seminar will explore how signature pedagogies of health professions education shape learning and potentially interfere when learning interprofessional collaborative practice skills. Through interactive dialogue, we will stimulate a knowledge community committed to developing a new signature pedagogy for interprofessional education (IPE).
