Anders Bærheim (1948) is a Professor emeritus in Family Medicine at the University of Bergen, and the founder of the Centre for Interprofessional Workplace Learning (TVEPS) in Bergen, Norway. He has chared the program commettee for the Bergen Medical Study, and has been the national editor og Scandinavian Journal of Primary Care. Current research interesses in social learning theories in interprofessional learning.

Background Most universities and university colleges provide interprofessional (IP) courses for their students, and many countries have regulations requiring higher educational institutions to provide IP courses. While described learning outcomes are often similar across the institutions, the course design varies considerably from site to site. The Centre for interprofessional work-place learning (TVEPS) in Bergen, Norway, offers interprofessional workplace learning for students from health and social welfare professions from the University of Bergen and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. TVEPS practice will now be compulsory for all health and social welfare professions students in Bergen �" expanding from 200 to 1000 students pr year.   In TVEPS we send interprofessional student groups with 4-5 students, one from each profession, to practice arenas in Bergen and surrounding municipalities.
