Dr. Abu-Baker is an Associate Dean for Clinical and Professional Affairs and Clinical Professor at RCOP. He held appointments at California Health Sciences University College of Pharmacy as Associate Professor of Clinical Sciences and Chair of the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences (2014-17), St. John Fisher College (2007-14) as Associate Professor, Interim Department Chair, Assistant Director of Experiential Education; and Assistant Professor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy (2004-07). He completed his PharmD and an Ambulatory Care/Internal Medicine Residency at the Albany College of Pharmacy. His research experience is in clinical outcomes and practice research.

Leadership/Mentorship: The Rangel College of Pharmacy (RCOP) is a dual campus program located on the Texas A&M University Kingsville campus and Texas A&M University College Station campus. In Kingsville, the program is not affiliated nor in the same geographical vicinity as other healthcare programs.
