Blair Mattern, Au.D. CCC-A is the Director of Interdisciplinary Clinical Operations at Ball State University. Dr. Mattern works with the College of Health Leadership Team, faculty, staff, and students to ensure consistent and congruent interactions and operations across clinical activities of the units within the College. Dr. Mattern is a licensed Audiologist. His research and clinical work primarily relate to assessment and intervention of individuals with balance disorders. Dr. Mattern received both his Doctor of Audiology and B.S. in Pre-Audiology degrees from Ball State University. He also serves as the University’s Associate Privacy Officer in matters pertaining to HIPAA compliance.

Background: Teamwork is critical for improved health outcomes during a crisis, like a virus outbreak. Individual team members need to be aware of their personal values and the guiding principles associated with high performance teamwork. The purpose of this activity was to introduce students to the value of teamwork in interprofessional collaborative care for improving health outcomes during a crisis like a virus outbreak and to assess attitudes towards teams and teamwork for an IPE event in a newly formed College of Health (CoH).
