Cathy Leslie is a researcher focusing on the impact of health literacy and communication on pediatric healthcare access and quality. Her clinical work as an occupational therapist was in early intervention services with families of children from birth to age 3 with or at risk for development delay or disability. She teaches interprofessional graduate students in healthcare professions programs at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA.

Presenting at the Nexus Summit:

Through a collaboration with our community's Early Intervention (EI) Program, the MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) created a new weekly parent-toddler group which incorporated the disciplines of physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and speech-language pathology (SLP). Graduate students collaborated with EI teachers in planning and implementing group and caregiver activities, including sharing developmental information with caregivers.
