Ciarra Stapleton is a fourth-year dental student at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Oklahoma City. She attended college at the University of Oklahoma in her hometown where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in biology and was an active member of Delta Gamma. During her time at the College of Dentistry, Ciarra conducted student research on the wage gap among Oklahoma dentists and held leadership positions including Dentistry Co-Chair of Unity Clinic, Vice President of the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists, and Community Outreach Chair for the OU College of Dentistry Diversity Council.

Using the example of the Unity Clinic at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, this seminar will introduce participants to methods for student engagement in designing and implementing student-led clinical practice for interprofessional clinical learning. The Unity Clinic aims to provide meaningful, interprofessional, clinical experience with real-world applications. The project began in Spring 2017 with the ultimate vision of an interdisciplinary, mobile, student-led clinic.
