Dr. Minnick is an academic who specializes in substance use prevention, treatment, and policy topics. He completed his undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies at Texas Tech University in 2011, and received both his masters (2015) and PhD (2019) in social work from the University at Albany, SUNY.

The Indiana University Interprofessional Practice and Education Center and the Ball State University College of Health, in collaboration, hosted the Delaware County Substance Use Disorder Symposium.
