Dawn Borgerson MSN, RN, CCRP, is the Simulation/IPE Coordinator, Assistant Professor of Nursing at Mercy College of Ohio. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of nursing, including pediatrics, hematology/oncology and emergency/trauma. Dawn has multiple articles published in peer reviewed journals aimed at transforming education, quality and retention. She became a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) in 2005, received the Sigma Theta Tau, Zeta Theta Chapter MSN Research Award in 2011 and was recently appointed to the Sigma Theta Tau Research Committee. She transitioned from Pediatric Emergency Department Educator into academia last year, determined to improve the quality of health care education. Dawn is currenly enrolled in the INACSL Simulation Education Program. Her primary focus is stregthening interprofessional collaborative practice through simulation and IPE curriculum for certificate, undergraduate and graduate healthcare programs.

BACKGROUND- Interprofessional Education (IPE) is an integral curriculum component at Mercy College of Ohio to prepare graduates for interprofessional collaborative practice. Students experience the Mercy Difference through team-based education grounded in ethics, aimed at transforming healthcare by improving the quality and safety of patient centered care.
