Debbie Chang, PhD

Dr. Chang is the Director of Evaluation for the Undergraduate Medical Education Curriculum at UT Health San Antonio’s Long School of Medicine. She oversees operational aspects of the evaluation processes for the formal curriculum, specifically the management, review, and distribution of surveys within the curriculum management database. In addition, Dr. Chang prepares the findings from evaluation activities into reports for various constituents including the School of Medicine’s Curriculum Committee and its associated subcommittees, the School of Medicine’s departments, the Dean’s Office, and accrediting agencies. Her research interests include assessment and evaluation, faculty development, and teaching and learning in Medical Education.

The oral health examination is proposed to be essential to medical education and a Healthy People 2020 indicator, though not routinely taught.
