Ellen Luebbers, MD is an Assistant Professor at the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine. She is the Director of IPE at the School of Medicine. She is the Interim Medical Director of the Mt. Sinai Skills and Simulation Center at CWRU. She is the primary investigator on a multi school IPE grant from the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation to develop a model for clinical IPE educaiton. She is the PI on a Key Bank Foundation grant that supports and interprodessional student clinic and works to develop community based IPE. She is a board certified pathologist and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in professional leadership development for healthcare quality and systems improvement at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Effective interprofessional (IP) experiences in the clinical learning environment are needed to enhance student competence in communication and collaboration. This talk will describe a core set of activities and assessment developed to optimize the learning and application of team-based skills in the clinical environment.
