Frank J. Ascione is Professor of Pharmacy, UM College of Pharmacy and Founding Director of the UM Center for Interprofessional Education._x000D_
Dr. Ascione began his academic career at UM in 1977 and was Dean of the College of Pharmacy from 2004-14. His research includes studying medication management or use and the implementation of interprofessional education in academia. _x000D_
He has received the Michigan Pharmacist Association’s Executive Board Medal and Pharmacist of the Year awards, the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award, and the American International Health Collaborative Interprofessional Educator and Mentor Award.

Background: In 2015, the provost and the health science deans committed $6 million over five years to develop an interprofessional health education initiative, including the founding of the Michigan Center for Interprofessional Education (Center for IPE).
