Kara Landis is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist (CCC-SLP) and clinical lecturer in the_x000D_
Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at Ball State University (BSU). Her clinical interests_x000D_
include language-literacy disorders, orofacial myology and dynamic assessment. Kara teaches an_x000D_
undergraduate course in assessment and provides clinical supervision for students at the Ball State Speech_x000D_
and Language Clinic. Before working in academia, Kara spent a significant amount of time working in_x000D_
hospitals, outpatient clinics, school systems and private practice. She received a B.A. in Speech Pathology_x000D_
and Audiology in 1997 and an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology in 2000, both from BSU.

Background: Teamwork is critical for improved health outcomes during a crisis, like a virus outbreak. Individual team members need to be aware of their personal values and the guiding principles associated with high performance teamwork. The purpose of this activity was to introduce students to the value of teamwork in interprofessional collaborative care for improving health outcomes during a crisis like a virus outbreak and to assess attitudes towards teams and teamwork for an IPE event in a newly formed College of Health (CoH).
