Dr. Luce is currently the Dental Director at the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Previously, she was an assistant professor in both the Community Dentistry and Periodontics divisions at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she participated extensively in Interprofessional Education. Dr. Luce obtained a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion from The Hudson College of Public Health in 2020. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2001.

The University of Oklahoma Mothers’ Health Initiative (OUMI) was established in 2019 as an opportunity to better serve pregnant and nursing mothers in the community using an interprofessional approach. A secondary aim of this project was to provide real-time learning for interprofessional student teams of one student each from nursing, dental hygiene and nutritional sciences. Each week, the teams provided patient education for pregnant women and/or women with small children during their women’s clinic visit.
