Kathy Riedford completed her PhD in psychiatric nursing from Indiana University in 1997. She is an associate professor of nursing at University of Southern Indiana where she developed the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specialty in 2011. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, she has extensive background and experience in caring for those with psychiatric illnesses across the lifespan. She received an Advanced Nursing Education Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA) award in 2016 to develop community academic partnerships to place interprofessional graduate student teams in rural and underserved facilities in the community.

In line with the Quadruple Aim, optimal health care should utilize an integrated approach addressing both physical and behavioral health. Integrated care is best provided interprofessionally where a team of clinicians work together to provide patient centered care. This presentation will report on the development and refinement of a graduate training model to enable healthcare professionals to deliver effective integrated care interprofessionally.
