Lisa Diamond, DNP, FNP-C is an assistant professor in the graduate nursing program at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. She teaches APRN's Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Assessment,Diagnosis and Management for both FNP's and AGNP's and DNP Leadership . Dr. Diamond has developed journal writing workshops for nurses and the community. She was the recipient of the 2019 Rising Star Faculty Award from the College of Nursing at University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. She has presented at national professional conferences on such topics as Therapeutic Knitting, Prescribing Yoga in Primary Care, Communication for APRN students, and Reflective Journal Writing for NPs.

Background
Building on a previous IPE workshop where nurse practitioner (NP) students learned oral examination techniques from dental medicine (DM) students, faculty identified an opportunity to scaffold in a new learning activity in the Family NP/Adult Gerontology NP curriculum by incorporating a case study for the interprofessional groups of students to work through. These IPE activities address several nursing education competencies and dental education accreditation standards.
