Dr. Marta Vives, DNP, FPMHNP, CNS, BC, RN, obtained her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2012 from the University of Tenn_x000D_ essee and her Master's degree from George Mason University in 2002. She is Assistant Professor/Clinical of advanced practice gr_x000D_ aduate and doctorate level nursing students at UT Health San Antonio, School of Nursing. She serves as chair/mentor for students developing performance improvement projects at a doctoral level (DNP). She is an ANCC board certified Family Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. She practices as a behavioral health provider at UT Health Wellness 360 clinic.

BACKGROUND: The next generation of health care workers will require interprofessional education (IPE) to prepare for interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP).
