Megan Mahowald, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Associate Professor and Department Chair at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Dr. Mahowald is a certified, licensed speech-language pathologist. Her areas of expertise include oral and written language development, assessment and intervention in educational and medical settings. Dr. Mahowald is engaged in interprofessional education, practice and research through her interest and expertise in school-age children as well as literacy assessment and intervention.

Camp Maverick: Rec N’ Read is a collaborative, interprofessional practice in which multiple health and educational disciplines work together to provide recreation and literacy support to youth regardless of socioeconomic status or disability across a variety of clinical service models. This is a full day, summer camp designed to increase literacy skills in elementary-aged youth through literacy and recreation activities.
