Natalie Heywood MSN-Ed, BSN, RN is the Associate Director for the online RN-BSN and Concurrent Enrollment Programs in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University. She has been with ASU since 2015, first teaching in the pre-licensure undergraduate nursing program, and then transitioning to the online environment in 2018. Her clinical nursing background is in critical care nursing, working in both the emergency and trauma room for her entire career. She has her Master’s in nursing education and is currently working on her DNP in Innovation and Leadership at ASU. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Early in the COVID-19 crisis, a large Southwestern utility company reached out to surrounding education and research partners for help. Their community of employees are essential to the power supply for a significant portion of the southwestern US, positioning them at the center of this newly formed community of care.
