Nisha Patel is a second-year nursing student at Emory University School of Nursing’s Family Nurse Practitioner track who currently serves on the AISH Leadership Team. Prior to nursing school, she received a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from UC Davis. She worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at UC San Francisco’s Comprehensive Cancer Center to manage therapeutic clinical trials for their Genitourinary Medical Oncology department. She chose a nursing career to serve as a clinician, educator, and patient advocate who influences sustainable health behavior changes and addresses the clinical ramifications for patients on holistic fronts.

Background: Atlanta Interprofessional Student Hotspotting (AISH) is a student-run volunteer organization that partners with Grady Health System (Grady) to enable multidisciplinary student teams to engage in non-clinical care for high-need, high-cost (HNHC) patients.
