Dr. Moote, PharmD, MSc, BCPS, received her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2007 from The University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Science in Pharmacy and Advanced Practice Pharmacotherapy Specialty Residency at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas in 2009. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Texas College of Pharmacy and an Adjoint Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Moote maintains an active practice in the area of_x000D_ internal medicine. She is a board certified, clinical pharmacy specialist at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

BACKGROUND: The next generation of health care workers will require interprofessional education (IPE) to prepare for interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP). To date, IPE growth and development in the United States has been primarily preclinical. Leading organizations recognize, however, that IPE must move meaningfully into clinical learning environments to improve health outcomes.
