I am an educator and public health nurse with experience in curriculum design, program development, and policy analysis. In my faculty role, I use social and ecological models of health to guide students in building linkages between social determinants of health and the public policies that directly, or indirectly, influence the health of populations. My scholarship reflects a focus on pedagogical approaches to professional roles and health systems science in health professions education.

BackgroundThis project integrates museum-based sessions into a community-based, interprofessional education program for health professions students. Teams of students work with individuals who have complex health and social needs to provide care coordination and supportive community-based, person-centered interventions. Students learn to work collaboratively to identify and address social, behavioral and structural barriers to health while developing IPEC competencies.
