Stephen Noe, DMS, MPAS, PA-C, Assistant Professor, is the Program Director of the LMU Physician Assistant Program in Harrogate. Dr. Noe has worked clinically in Emergency Medicine for 11 years, in addition to working part time in Occupational and Family Medicine. Dr. Noe’s involvement with the Interprofessional Education Committee for the past 3 years has involved spearheading new opportunities, writing patient cases, creating evaluation rubrics, and assessing student performance. In his work implementing patient cases using OSCE and SIM technology he followed up working in small groups to optimize patient care and outcomes.

Research and practice wisdom demonstrate that health outcomes require more than simply prescribing the right medication for a disease. A wide variety of patient, family, caregiver, and community factors ranging from medication costs to high risk home situations may hinder desired outcomes and even lead to premature death. A pilot project was developed by health professions faculty from two schools to teach social determinants of health outcomes.
